The place was clean, always a plus.
To the negative, the background music was actually foreground music. It was mostly country music, and way too loud for a couple, who like to talk to each other. I'm not a country music fan, and I don't like loud music when I dining. I know there are many who would love this aspect of the restaurant. I'm not one of them.
A nice place, we felt welcome and everything was great......service, vibe and food!!
My wife ordered a hamburger and waffle fries. The burger was good, but not outstanding. The waffle fries were overcooked, somewhat dry inside.
They have a respectable choice of draft beer, a big plus, for me. I had a "Firehouse" IPA, which was very good (sorry, I don't have any additional info on that brew)
Our biggest turnoff for this restaurant was the loud music. If that doesn't bother you, I can recommend this restaurant to you.
To the positive, as opposed to many who have commented the prices are too high, I don't get that. For what we had, I really couldn't expect to pay any less, anywhere else, of similar quality.
Definitely the best spot in Orrville. I stopped in for dinner when I got in to town, and THE Jerry was here hanging out. Such a nice guy with a great staff. They are willing to modify menu items, and the food comes out fast.
Finally, I've read in previous reviews, how great the service is. Maybe we arrived at the wrong time (4:45 PM). Maybe there was a shift change, or something going on. There was one woman tending bar, and one waiting tables. We waited 10-15 minutes before someone came to us with menus and drink orders. The drinks came promptly. She asked if we were ready to order. We said no. She didn't return for at least ten minutes. By the time the food arrived, there were at least three other wait staff on duty, so, like I said, it was just bad timing.
I had the fish dinner. The fish appeared to be perch, not, IMHO, Alaskan pollock, which is advertised. Not a problem, because it was very good. The tartar sauce, which was in a squeeze bottle at the table, was exceptional. The "tater babies" were good. The coleslaw was better than most.
Great wings and lobster bisque. Just a bit pricey. Still the best wings I've ever had and the Parmesan garlic dipping sauce is the absolute BEST! I'd rate their food way above better than BW3 and I don't have to drive to Wooster.
I've been wanting to give this place a try, for a very long time. My wife has a hard time trying new places, so I rarely get to try something new. This place was OK, but I walked away thinking I wasted a good opportunity, because I agree with most of her negative impressions.
The food overall is comparable to an Applebees. I don't think I have ever had a dish that was amazing but it will do, since the area lacks other dining options for eating. The people are friendly and the prices are not bad for lunch.
